What’s up, family? It’s the Alaskan Avenger coming to you live from Anchorage. I wanted to break down what went down during these last two lives because, man, it was a whole-ass adventure just trying to get some basic home improvement done without ending up in the ER.
The Chandelier Must Go
I started out the first live almost breaking my neck on a damn stepladder before the stream even kicked off. I’ve been doing some work around the house lately, and that old, crusty chandelier in the lounge area had to go. The lady who lived here before was super old—had a piano, a grandfather clock, the whole nine—and while that light might’ve been nice once, the new owners blasted the place with white paint and got overspray all over it.
Since it’s just me and Chanel, we don’t even use a dining table; we’ve got one of those coffee tables that raises up so we can eat while we’re chilling on the couch. So, the mission was simple: rip down the old junk and put up something modern and clean.
Living Dangerously
Now, a lot of you were asking if I hit the breaker. Look, I turned the switch off, and for me, that’s usually enough. I know the electricians in the chat were losing their minds, but I like to live a little dangerously. I managed to get the old one down without getting smoked, but then the real “hillbilly engineering” started.
YouTube was acting like a straight-up hater, dropping the stream left and right—second or third week in a row now. But we pushed through. When it came time to put the new LED fixture up, things got sketchy. I realized there were way more wires than I expected, and the bracket wasn’t sitting right.
Hillbilly Electrical 101
By the second live, me and my girl were deep in the trenches. I’m not even gonna lie to you—I used duct tape and a piece of cardboard to wedge that light into place so the screws would actually catch. I call it “Hillbilly Tom’s Electrical”. Chanel was right there helping me, holding the light while I cursed at the ceiling. We finally got it threaded, hit the switch, and boom—it actually works. It looks like a crown or some scientific experiment, but it’s 100% better than that old dangly mess.
Real Talk & The Future
Between the drilling and the wiring, we got into some heavy topics:
- The Lease Situation: I finally got the landlord situation sorted. Turns out, after they saw my social media posts, they “realized” they sent me the wrong lease with all those crazy terms. We’re signing a much more “human” version this week.
- Sober Gang: We talked about life after prison and staying sober. I’ve been out for a year now, making a livable wage, and I’m telling you—if you’re a solid, sober worker, Alaska will pay you three times what you’re making elsewhere.
- Collaborations: People keep asking me to call Joe Rogan. I don’t pursue notoriety, man. If people think my story matters, they’ll reach out. I’m not calling anyone.
I appreciate every one of you who tuned in and supported the platform. We did it—new light is up, I’m not electrocuted, and we’re still moving forward. Remember, hug the ones you love because you never know which day is gonna be the one.
All of us under one light.
